Continuing our tradition.
The Second Harvest Food Drive has become a major component of the week-long Spaghetti Supper Event. Our continued partnership with Second Harvest help fight hunger in Middle Tennessee.
We look forward to continuing this important initiative to serve the Nashville community.
Why it matters.
In Middle Tennessee, 1 in 8 adults including 1 in 7 children struggle with hunger every day.
During the past eighteen months, Second Harvest experienced an increase in need and more people than ever using the food bank’s resources for the first time due to the deadly March, 2020 tornadoes and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Facts: 7 million pounds of food rescued from 280 grocery stores
802 thousand pounds of food distributed each week
Over 36 million meals distributed every year
Each year MBA participates in News Channel 2 Food 2 Families food drive by fundraising on behalf of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to support their mission of feeding hungry people and working to solve hunger issues in our community.
Because of the outstanding generosity of the MBA families, faculty, and staff, MBA has won the News Channel 2 Food 2 Families food drive contest for the past 7 years! MBA raised over 127,000 pounds through monetary and food donations, which averaged over 158 meals per student.
